Grupo de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Sevilla que trabajaron en el XLAB desde el 14 al 30 de abril de 2009 junto a profesores de Gotinga y Sevilla. El XLAB (Experimental Laboratory) es un centro creado por la Dra. Eva Maria Neher para motivar a los estudiantes a realizar investigación científica. Su ubicación está en Gotinga (Alemania). Los científicos de la Universidad de Gotinga y Centros de Investigación del Instituto Max Planck de esta ciudad han obtenido 40 Premios Nobel.

Desde el año 2005, y fruto de las relaciones científicas que tenemos con el Max Planck de Gotinga y con el XLAB, la Universidad de Sevilla apoya el intercambio de estudiantes con esta Institución alemana. Son ya 105 estudiantes de la Universidad de Sevilla (87 de la Facultad de Medicina) los que han realizado una estancia de tres semanas en esta prestigiosa Institución. Cada año (en el mes de octubre), la Universidad de Sevilla a través del Vicerrectorado de Relaciones Internacionales convoca becas XLAB para realizar esta actividad. Durante este tiempo nuestros estudiantes han realizado experimentos de Anatomía, Farmacología, Biología Molecular, Bioquímica, Resonancia Nuclear Magnética, Fisiología.

 Naturalmente, estudiantes de la Universidad de Georg-August de Gotinga realizan un curso de Iniciación a la Investigación en la Universidad de Sevilla. Son ya 45 estudiantes de Medicina Molecular de Alemania los que habrán estudiado en Sevilla desde el año 2007.

14 students, 13 from the University of Goettingen (Germany) and 1 from the University of Colorado (Denver, USA) took a coiurse in Research in our University. 9 students from the University of Goettingen are currently working in labs of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics of the University of Seville.

This practical course on research is an initiative between the two universities to strenghthen their links and offer new opportunities to our european students.

        XLAB in the news

The University of Seville and the Georg-August University of Goettingen (Germany) are about to sign an exchange program for their students.

This agreement will allow students from Biological Sciences (Medicine, Biology and Pharmacy) of the University of Seville to perform introductory courses to Research in the XLAB of the University of Goettingen and  research laboratories of the Max Planck Institute and the University otself. Accordingly, german students will travel to Seville to perform a practical course at the University of Seville and labs of professors of our University.

The programmes developped at both Universities will count as credits according to the rules established by the European Union and the Higher Space of Education in Europe.

The University of Seville will publish a resolution by which 30 fellowships will be given to spanish students to perform a 3 weeks stay in the XLAB next spring (April, 2007)
